Sooo my computer died this week and I'm a slow cell phone typer- so I've been putting off writing updates. It's been about a week since the last one- so here is a giant but somewhat concise update on our tour..
Seattle-- Rainy but pretty. We played at Chop Suey with our buds Hair and Space Museum and crashed at our friend JC's house. Side note: Marijuana is everywhere in this city and you can order it from counters with more specificity than you'd give at a Starbucks. So weird!
Portland: Didn't feel like the show, Portlandia makes it out to be but it was still a blast. We played at High Water Mark, drank Portland brews, and crashed with this cool visual artist we met named Scott. Tried to go to breakfast in the morning, but a single breakfast taco cost about 16 dollars... So...
Eugene: Had a weird night here. I went to grab a glass of wine and waste time before our show and ended up getting in a conversation/argument on politics and " the youth" with a 50 year old who ended up buying me dinner because he felt bad that I couldn't afford dinner. I like a friendly argument (and dinner) so this was a time. After that we played at a dive bar called Black Forest.
Medford: There is a first time for everything.. We played a show at a Chinese restaurant and got free Chinese food as payment. It was actually a really killer show with lots of locals and a group of lovely travelers. One gal wrote me a poem. Poems and new buds are always the best.
Oakland: We played at a super cool gay bar called White Horse Inn. It was rad playing Halloween weekend here because the costumes were some of the best I've ever seen. We played with a guy named Frank Ene, who will probably be a famous indie pop star within the year due to talent and his close proximity to Hollywood.
San Francisco: We had the day off here. We hit up Haight Street, got tacos in The Mission, and finished the night off with wine, friends and the perfect view of the city in Dolores Park.
And now we are headed out from our glamorous stay at the Walmart parking lot to San Luis Obispo, CA! Ciao.
