Marietta Georgia is a small freaking town surrounded by gorgeous rivers and parks. We got to the area kind of early and spent another day outside by the river. It was so beautiful! I kinda feel like this tour is just an excuse to see all the lovely landscapes the US has to offer.
In the evening, we played at this rad DIY spot called Swayze’s. It was a crazy show because the weather was super insane. The lightening and hail caused the power to go out right before we were going to play. The venue had about a million extension chords (or at least way more than one would expect) so it all ended up working out fine. Thanks so much to all the folks who work at Swayze’s and the other bands for making the show such a blast!
One thing to note is that men in the south seem to feel way more entitled to harass women in weird ways. A concrete example is something that happened this morning. Rachelle and I were hanging out sipping coffees at the gas station this morning, and two creepy men pulled up next to us in a van saying incredibly messed up stuff, basically implying that they would love to pick us up and drive us away in their truck. PSA to anyone who needs reminding: that is never cool, and “hey, we could totally abbdduct you in our truck” is never perceived as a good pick up line. We deflected their comments and made a b-line to Waffle House. I hope those guys get their minds fixed.
Today we are continuing South and are headed to Dothan Alabama.
