Charlotte + Jacksonville

CHARLOTTE! We played at The Station with a singer-songwriter from the area who goes by Pretty Baby as well as Elijah von Cramon's project Woof City. Pretty Baby kinda reminded me vocally of this band I dig out of Michigan called Breathe Owl Breathe. Woof City was a lotta fun- and had a bit of an anti folk vibe to them. Elijah said later that they were doing songs they never do, and that usually they're a bit more garage-y. In any case, they were badass musicians and you should check them out if they are ever in your town.

Right before we played our set, I double checked with Daisy that there weren't any bands I was forgetting about. Daisy filled me in that another band had just jumped on the bill. Soo....we get to the end of our set and I  go on this really long monologue about how the epic band "Your Mom" had just jumped on the bill and that everyone needed to stick around for them. Everyone was laughing and I thought it was just because they were stoked to see their hometown band with the funny name. Turns out Daisy was totally making that up. I only realized after hurriedly taking our gear off stage that there was no band called Your Mom. Anyway- if you want to mess me up a t a show, just fill me in on the last minute band addition of your choosing.

The night was really fun, ending with weird 100 million proof peppermint shots and crashing at Elijah's house.  Big thanks to Taylor the bartender and Christine for setting up the whole show.

Last night we played at Shantytown Pub with folk artist Dylan Tietze and a band called Fuck Salad. We played with Fuck Salad last time we were in Jacksonville, so it was fun to see them again. Fuck Salad's set was improvised and pretty intense culminating in having creepy little doll heads thrown at the audience. Pictures below : )
