Heading out FOREVER (again)

Hey world!

I know I haven’t written for a minute. Last weekend we went out of town and played PRF in Chicago, Black Circle Brewing Co. in Indianapolis, and Junetopia in East Davenport. All the shows were fantastic, and we got to see a lot of old friends in all of the spots. Rachelle- Daisy’s partner-my best bud, and the brilliant artist who does our merch, is out traveling with us again, and it feels great having her back on the road with us. The first year that we went out on the road, she came with us the entire time/months and months- but had to stop this past year due to getting an incredible teaching job. Having her with us feels right!

We are driving west right now, leaving St. Louis (where we had a wonderful show at Foam with buds Francis Mannes, Paper Kite, and The Vigilettes) and heading to Kansas City, Missouri. This is the long haul now— we haven’t done a 2 month tour in a minute- and it feels good to be in the van, driving down the freeway, knowing that this is going to be our day-to-day for awhile.

There is something super liberating about seeing the country this way—getting invited into different music communities is an absolute honor- and living out of the van/sleeping in our tents and at people’s houses- is a lifestyle I enjoy a lot. I feel like I’m always learning from the people I meet. Not to be cheesy, but it is a huge kindness when people let us crash at their spots, and trying to figure out how to repay kindnesses on the road is a welcome challenge.

Tomorrow we play in KANSAS for the first time! I think the only state we haven't booked to play now is Oklahoma, and that isn’t for want of trying- so if you have any friends in Oklahoma who book shows have them hit us up! It is on our to-do list.

Other big announcements include:::: WE ARE WORKING WITH SOFABURN AND RELEASING A NEW ALBUM ON SEPTEMBER 7TH! Super excited for this one—it’s heavier and reflects a lot of how I’ve been feeling these past 2 years. The song about rapist Brock Turner is on the record (fuck that asshole), as well as our cover of I’m Afraid of Americans. Anyway- there will be some music videos and early releases this summer. Keep you posted on all of that.

Sending love-

Kate
