We sort of slipped off the face of the earth for the last few weeks of tour for the blog. Basically Canada was fucking amazing-even though we were followed the entire time by a haze of forest fire smoke. South and North Dakota were wild- Vermillion and Fargo were particularly fun. Minnesota was an absolute blast. We ended the tour playing 14 or so shows right in a row finishing with two in one day in Minneapolis. Then we slept forever, drove home, and dealt with life shit. Time really does move differently while you're on the road, and it feels like you are entering and leaving a different planet each time you go out.
There is a lot going on right now in Cincinnati. We just had a horrific shooting downtown. We lost a dear member of our musical community recently. The world is a pretty messed up place- as you all know. All I can really say is we all have to be there for each other as much as we can. Mental states are fragile. Be mindful of the things you CAN control, and be forgiving of yourself for your short comings and what you can't control. All we can do is try our best really, and get through all of this together. Might make a longer post at some point on substances (alcohol) and my journey with and without them this year. We'll see if I feel like opening up on all that :) Anyway, take care of yourself. Sending all the love to whoever is reading this. Hang in there.
